epa05117860 An handout artists impression made available on 22 January 2016 by www.Military History showing what German First World War Navy submarine, U-31, might have looked like. The wreck of a U31, missing in action since 1915 was found by ScottishPower Renewables and Vatten whilst undertaking detailed seabed scanning for the development of windfarm projects in the East Anglia Zone, off the coast of Norfolk and Suffolk, eastern England. German submarine, U-31, left for patrol on 13 January 1915 never to return. The wreck is approximately 90km offshore in the North Sea but sits on the seabed at a depth of only 30 metres. It is thought that U-31 had struck a mine and sank with the loss of its entire complement of 4 officers, 31 men.
